Owned by Lesley Simpson and run by her and daughter Jen and son Paul, Lesley’s News and Books has the best choice of daily newspapers and magazines around. They also have a great selection of stationery items, children’s games, crayons, books and jigsaws.
Lesley is another stalwart on Blackburn Market, having started out in the previous market hall in 1988 after taking over an existing business that sold books and stationery. In the early 1990s they expanded and started to sell newspapers and magazines.
More recently, jigsaws have become an important addition to the stall and are one of their unique selling points. Specialising in Jumbo, Gibsons, Ravensburger and House of Puzzles jigsaws as well as a large range of children’s puzzles you won’t find a better choice in town. Their jigsaws are competitively priced and lower than can be generally found on the Internet.
Lesley’s News is a family run business, with Lesley working alongside her son Paul and daughter Jennifer, and their care and passion is evident. For your daily news and magazines Lesley has it all!
