Blackburn Market has announced that a long-established shoe-repair business is relocating its standalone Blackburn store to one of the market’s shop units.
Shoesmith, who specialise in shoe repairs, key cutting and engraving will be moving into their new base in Blackburn Market, which is home to more than 70 traders, on Monday, 28th September.
The specialist business, which was founded in Halifax 45 years ago has been based in their current store in The Mall Blackburn for 20 years.
Owner of Shoesmith, Darrel Cockroft, said: “We chose to relocate to the market because it is in a fantastic location with a vibrant atmosphere. Once all of the town centre developments are complete the footfall in the market hall will ultimately increase, which will make it a highly sought after location.”
He added: “Over the past 15 years shoe repairing has become less popular but we have continued to grow the business and our most recent addition is t-shirt printing. We will still be offering the same services to our loyal customer base which has grown with us over the years.”
Shoesmith will be situated next to Moorey’s Health Store and will open Monday – Saturday from 8:30am – 5.30pm.
