Blackburn Market has welcomed more new traders in recent weeks to add to the fabulous food court offering.
Adding to the 20 stalls that already offer food and drink in the market, the bumper selection of new choices includes two new cake and bakery stalls, a Chinese food specialist and innovative hand pressed coffees and gourmet hot dogs.
The Cake Away features tantalisingly tasty cakes and deliciously delightful cupcakes, with different ranges every day! Birthday cakes are available to order, and the mermaid cupcakes are already a big hit with market shoppers.
AromAmoré offers a great mix of hand-pressed coffee with a delicious range of comfort food too. You’d be forgiven for thinking you are having a pint pulled as Steve, the owner, operates the vintage-style press. The stall has an expanding range of food and their super-long steamed hot-dog rolls, filled with a choice of Wild Boar sausage, Bratwurst or Frankfurter, are a speciality….perfect for this time of year.
Adding to the growing list, the market has also welcomed a new Chinese food stall which is already proving a big hit with lots of customers queuing to enjoy the crispy chicken or tofu and salt & pepper fries. The stall has added a new spicy twist to the food court area. Owner Mrs Wing Woo said: “We have only been open for a few days and we’ve been overwhelmed with the reaction from customers. We’re so pleased to have chosen Blackburn Market for our new venture, it’s really busy!”
Bringing a glamourous look to baking is The Bake Room featuring homemade cakes, cupcakes, tasty treats and, their speciality, chocolate truffles. They are made freshly every day and orders for bespoke celebration cakes are welcome too. The cakes are sumptuously decorated and choosing which one to try, will be a real challenge.
Martin Kelly, Director of Growth & Development at Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council said:
“It is great that we are seeing an increase in the number of stalls opening on the market and the level of enquiries we are receiving increasing too. We have a packed programme of events in the market this Christmas and these new independent businesses are a welcome addition to the town’s shopping experience.
“With Sunday openings, late night markets and opportunities for pop-up stalls, so people can try a business idea, it is clear that people are seeing the advantages of trading in the market at the heart of our town centre.”
Blackburn Market are offering pop-up stalls and have created a new indoor “street-trading” area to host these stalls as well for specialist markets and festivals. Twilight Markets on Thursday evening before Christmas are the first of these special events. They take place on Thursday 12th & 19th December through to 8pm.
Blackburn Market is now open every day (including Sundays) up to Christmas. Anyone wanting more details about trading on Blackburn Market should email hello@blackburnmarket.com and for details of all the events check the website blackburnmarket.com
